As of February 5, 2025, Auburn University continues to hold the top position in the Associated Press (AP) Top 25 men’s college basketball rankings. This marks the fourth consecutive week that the Tigers have secured the No. 1 spot, underscoring their dominance in the sport.
Auburn’s Recent Performance
Auburn’s ascent to the top of the rankings has been propelled by a series of impressive victories. On February 1, the Tigers extended their winning streak to 13 games with a 92-82 triumph over No. 23 Ole Miss. Johni Broome led the team with 20 points and 12 rebounds, marking his 13th double-double of the season. Other notable contributors included Chad Baker-Mazara (18 points), Denver Jones (16 points), and Miles Kelly (15 points).
Following this, on February 5, Auburn secured a commanding 98-70 victory over Oklahoma, bringing their winning streak to 14 games. Johni Broome and Chad Baker-Mazara each scored 15 points, with Broome also contributing six assists, five rebounds, three blocks, and three steals. The Tigers dominated in the paint, scoring 46 points and blocking 11 shots, while forcing 15 turnovers from Oklahoma and converting these into 22 points.
