However, the Browns opted to promote their tight ends coach and pass game specialist, Tommy Rees, to the role, leaving Bevell in his current position with the Dolphins.
Bevell joined the Dolphins’ coaching staff in 2022, bringing with him a wealth of experience from previous roles as an offensive coordinator and interim head coach with teams such as the Detroit Lions and Jacksonville Jaguars. His tenure in Miami has been marked by significant improvements in the team’s passing offense, contributing to the development of quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.
In July 2023, Bevell experienced a health scare when he suffered a detached retina, requiring immediate surgery. Following the procedure, he adhered to a strict recovery regimen, which included spending a considerable amount of time in a face-down position.
