Oklahoma Sooners land in the top five of one of the more underrated offensive linemen in the country for 2026

In the past, the Oklahoma Sooners had some of the more dominant offensive lines in college football. They put players on the field that protected guys like Baker Mayfield of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Kyler Murray of the Arizona Cardinals, and Jalen Hurts of the Philadelphia Eagles, who is now in the Super Bowl.

And, they have so many players from their past offensive lines currently in the NFL — maybe the most starters in the league. They currently have the most former players in the Super Bowl for three years in a row. But, that’s another story for another day. The players they have produced over the years don’t match up or align with what they have been producing for the last two years or so.

Last year, they had a terrible offensive line — one that was hurt a ton and put in a bad offensive scheme. The Sooners are hoping to get back to their old ways. Getting players like Michael Fasusi will surely help, as will one of the underrated offensive linemen they are going after.

And, they just landed in his top-five

Toa Katoa is a standout offensive lineman from Trinity High School in Euless, Texas, part of the class of 2026. At 6-foot-4 and 358 pounds, his size is a significant advantage on the field.

His skills have caught the eye of major college football programs, notably Texas, where he’s developed a relationship with Coach Kyle Flood. But, that doesn’t mean you can rule out other schools. His football career is well-documented on recruiting sites like On3, 247Sports, Rivals, and ESPN, emphasizing his prowess as an interior lineman. Because of his size, that’s what he would play at the college level, too.

Beyond football, Katoa has experience in track and field, focusing on throwing events during his junior high years. Oklahoma, Texas, Texas A&M, SMU, and Tennessee are all in his top five. The Sooners definitely have a chance, as On3 has him with a 53% chance to land with the Sooners, which is the highest percentage of all the teams he is interested in.
