Alabama football will have a formal visit from a 5-star offensive lineman prospect.
Alabama football has locked in an official visit with one of the nation’s top overall prospects in the 2026 recruiting class.
5-star OL Lamar Brown out of University Lab High School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana will visit the Crimson Tide over the weekend of May 30th, per a report from On3’s Steve Wiltfong.
Brown is the No. 1 player in the state of Louisiana and the No. 8 overall player in the country for 2026, according to the 247 composite rankings. Brown has positional versatility and is being recruited by some programs to play both sides of the football. Most scouts view him long-term as an interior offensive lineman, but some think he would make a great defensive tackle at the next level.
Brown’s recruitment will be hotly contested. Programs like Georgia and Texas A&M are making a big push for him, but pulling him away from LSU – literally across the street from his high school – will be an enormous challenge.

Alabama has a pipeline to University Lab. Nick Saban landed Tim Williams, Dylan Moses, and Christian Harris from that high school, so it’s not an impossible task. Of course, as well as Kalen DeBoer has recruited so far for the Crimson Tide, Saban was a different animal.
Along with those three, Alabama had a history of major recruiting wins in the state of Louisiana during the Saban era, including high-profile prospects like Landon Collins, Cam Robinson, and Eddie Lacy.
It remains to be seen whether DeBoer can find success recruiting in Louisiana. His first recruiting class at Alabama featured no players from the state.
Brown will be a tough pull, but landing him would be a major signal that DeBoer can go toe-to-toe with the big boys in their own state.
