Tigers Complete First Day of Orange and Purple Invitational
CLEMSON, S.C. – The Clemson Tigers completed the first day of the Orange and Purple Invitational as multiple athletes added their names on the all-time performance list while others earned personal and season bests in their respective events.
Shining bright on the day was freshman Aniyah Kitt as she tabbed first-place in the women’s 60 meter finals with an incredible time of 7.22. The time ties her third overall on Clemson’s top-ten list as she has officially recorded a top-ten time at all three meets this indoor season.
Meet Highlights:Â
- Shantae Foreman finished fourth overall in the long jump with a mark of 5.90m
- Isabelle Kapoor and Emma Fortuna enter the all-time list at No. 8 and No. 9 in the pentathlon
- Paris Husic sits at fifth so far in the men’s heptathlon following day one
- Anna Long secured a season best mark of 3.87m in the women’s pole vault
- Jayden Brown earns fourth place in the men’s 600 with a time of 1:18.80
- Micah Harris and Ryan John both recorded their best mark of the season in the men’s long jump
- Maddie Dinneen, Madison Roush, Alyssa Hammond and Grace Sheldon all recorded new personal bests in the women’s mile
- Silvia Jelelgo adds her name to the all-time list in the women’s mile with a time of 4:44.34 to take the No. 7 spot
- Jack McGahey and Jake Serra earned new personal bests in the men’s mile, Daniel Sullivan ran his best time of the season
- Carlito Jones threw a seasons best 18.89m in the men’s weight throw
- Aleksandra Stoilova and Aniyah Kitt both advanced to the finals of the women’s 60 meters, Kitt finished first in the event with a personal best time of 7.22 which also ties her for third on the all-time list
- Oneka Wilson advanced to the 60 meter hurdles finals and finished second overall with a season best time of 8.13
- Sharvis Simmonds advanced to the men’s 60 meter hurdles finals and finished sixth overall with a time of 8.13
