Are the Dallas Cowboys open to trading Micah Parsons?

The speculation surrounding Micah Parsons‘ future in Dallas is reaching a fever pitch. With the defensive superstar entering the final year of his rookie contract, contract extension talks remain eerily silent.

Could Parsons be on the move? Rumors suggest that the Cowboys might be open to dealing their defensive phenom for the right price, and even more intriguing-Parsons himself may have a preferred destination in mind.

Could Parsons be heading to Pittsburgh?

Trade whispers are nothing new in the NFL, but when they involve a game-changer like Parsons, fans are right to be on edge.

One rumor in particular has gained significant traction: the possibility of Parsons suiting up in black and gold for the Pittsburgh Steelers. But why Pittsburgh?

Every NFL player dreams of playing for their hometown team, and while there is no NFL franchise in Harrisburg, PA-Parsons’ hometown-he sees Pittsburgh as the closest thing. During a Super Bowl media interview with former Steelers cornerback Bryant McFadden, Parsons openly expressed his admiration for the Steelers.

“I said if I ever returned home, it was going to Pittsburgh,” Parsons was quoted as saying.

However, there’s another Pennsylvania team that could be in the mix-the Philadelphia Eagles. Philly is geographically closer to Harrisburg than Pittsburgh, and while Parsons didn’t explicitly mention the Eagles, he also didn’t rule them out. This leaves open the possibility that he could be considering a move to either Pennsylvania team.

If history has taught Cowboys fans anything, it’s that Jerry Jones has a knack for dragging out contract negotiations. Just ask Dak Prescott. The Cowboys famously delayed Prescott’s extension before ultimately signing him to a 240-million-dollar deal-only for him to suffer a significant injury shortly after.

Now, it seems like Jones is playing the same waiting game with Parsons, leaving fans wondering if the star linebacker’s future is truly in Dallas.

While no official trade talks have been reported, NFL insider Brandon Loree recently revealed that internal discussions are taking place regarding whether to commit to Parsons long-term or explore the possibility of trading him for a massive return.

“While there have been no trade talks, sources say there have at least been some internal discussions about whether to pay Parsons or trade him for a king’s ransom. If the Cowboys are willing to listen, they may get it,” Loree reported.
