Chelsea coach has been handed punishment by the English FA
Chelsea assistant manager Jesus Perez has been fined ยฃ4,000 by the Football Association after he was sent off during the Premier League defeat to Brentford last month.
Perez was sent off by referee Simon Hooper following a scuffle towards the end of the defeat on October 28 when the Spaniard tried to get the ball back from the visitors’ technical area.
He will still be available for Monday’s return to his former club Tottenham.A statement from the FA read: “Jesus Perez, Chelsea’s assistant head coach, has been fined ยฃ4,000 for misconduct at their game against Brentford on Saturday 28 October in the Premier League.”Jesus Perez admitted that his conduct during the 88th minute which led to his dismissal was improper, and he also accepted the standard penalty.
Speaking ahead of Wednesday night’s Carabao Cup fourth-round tie against Blackburn, Blues head coach Mauricio Pochettino had apologised for the indiscipline shown by his right-hand man.”He knows he made a mistake. He wanted to win. He wanted to help the team and get the ball back and start to play,” Pochettino said.”The attitude of Jesus, I want this type of behaviour, but he forgot there was a new rule… if you go into the other technical area you get sent off.”
