Kevin Oghenetega Tamaraebi Bakumo-Abraham is one of two children born on 2 October 1997 to his parents, Mr & Mrs Tamaraebi Bukumo. His father emigrated from West African country, Nigeria, to England, in search for greener pastures.
His mother is British.As a young child, Tammy had an interest in drama. He enjoyed acting in school, playing various roles. He was quite a good actor and during interviews, he recounts how he enjoyed acting. But as he grew he became interested in football. He soon joined Chelsea youth academy after prior exploits with Arsenal.
Soon after he joined the youth academy of English club Chelsea, he earned a promotion to the U-8 team. Realizing how talented young Tammy Abraham was, Arsenal and Chelsea went on head to head on granting Tammy Abraham a youth contract.
Tammy Abraham who was a fan of ex-Chelsea star, Didier Drogba whom he met when he was new to the club, chose to stay with Chelsea. He continued to play for Chelsea academy before he finally made it to the youth team.
Tammy Abrahamโs father is a Nigerian while his mother is British. His father who acts as his manager as well as his mother are known to keep a low profile and try to stay out of the media. He has a younger brother named Timmy Abraham, who also plays football. Timmy plays for English football club, Fulham. In May 2016, Tammy Abraham featured in an EPL game for the first time against Liverpool. He came in as a substitute in the 74th minute, the game ended in a 1-1 draw. A week after his debut in the EPL, he debuted in Stamford Bridge against Leicester City, as a substitute in the second half. Bristol City (Loan 2016โ17)In August 2016, Tammy was sent on loan to a football championship club, Bristol City.
A day after his loan move was made, he debuted for the club in a game against Wigan Athletic. In his second game for Bristol City, Tammy Abraham registered his first goal for the club. A week after, he scored a brace against Burton Albion. In another game against Sheffield Wednesday, he scored another brace. He went on to score two more goals in other games and was awarded the Championship Player of the Month award for September.Tammy was also given the September EFL Young Player of the Month award. In January 2017, as he scored his 16th goal in the championship, he broke the Moussa Dembรฉlรฉโs record for most goal scored by a teenager in the football championship. At the end of the second, he ranked as the second-highest scorer in the league with 23 goals. He was thus named Bristol City Player of the Year.
Swansea (Loan 2017โ18)In July 2017, Tammy signed a five-year contract extension with Chelsea and was sent to play for Swansea on loan for the 2017/18 season. In August, he debuted for Swansea and 10 days later he scored his first goal for Swansea in a league cup match against Milton Keynes Dons. In the next day game, he scored his first EPL goal in a game against Crystal Palace. After he scored a brace for Swansea in October, he struggled to find the back of the net again. Five months later he scored for Swansea and ended his season an a disappointing note as Swansea were relegated and he scored 8 goals in 39 games.
Aston Villa (Loan 2018โ19) In the 2018/19 season, then Chelsea Manager said Abraham will be kept at Chelsea and even featured him in Chelseaโs FA Community Shield game against Manchester City which they lost. In August 2018, he was sent on loan to Aston Villa and he debuted for the club the next month. In his home debut for the club, he scored his first goal for Aston Villa. in November, he scored 4 goals in a 5-5 draw against Nottingham Forest, which made him the first Aston Villa Player to score 4 goals in the 21st century.As a result, he was awarded the Championship Player of the Month award for November.By midseason, Tammy had 16 goals in 20 games, which sparked rumours that he may be recalled to Chelsea. Other clubs such as Wolverhampton sought to sign him, but FIFA rules which prevented a player from representing as much as 3 clubs in one season cast doubt over any move to Wolverhampton.
He continued in good form and at the end of the season, he was the Championship League second highest goal scorer with 26 goals. He also became the first Aton Villa Player to score as much as 25 goals in a season since 1977. He was thus named to the PFA Team of the Year.Back to Chelsea (2018โpresent)For the 2019/20 season, Tammy was called on to play for Chelsea senior team and was given the no. 9 Jersey. In the UEFA Super Cup game, he debuted for Chelsea for the first time in the season. During the game, he earned a penalty during extra time which sent the game to penalty shoot-out. He, however, lost the deciding penalty in the shoot-out and was racially abused on twitter for it. Days after Chelseaโs Super Cup defeat, he scored his first brace for Chelsea in-game against Norwich. In September, he scored a hat-trick and an own goal in an EPL match against Wolverhampton. He thus became the youngest player to register a hat-trick for Chelsea in the EPL era.
After winning his first Champions league Trophy in 2021 he left Chelsea and joined AS Roma to continue his career.
